Pregnancy Update

This pregnancy is FLYING BY compared to Oliver's.  Little miss will be here before we know it!  I am feeling more and more ready as we get her room together, buy clothes for her, etc.

Just as everyone told me I would, I got bigger faster with her, but I feel like it's evening out now.  I also gained a lot faster at the beginning which freaked me out, but that has kind of plateaued too (thankfully)! At 14 weeks I had already gained 11 pounds which seemed like a lot.  The dr and nurse said it wasn't, but when I asked how much I had gained with Oliver at that point they looked it up and I had only gained TWO pounds.  They said that's normal after first pregnancies to gain faster at the beginning and that as long as I'm eating healthy and staying active it will even out later on.  They were right - now at almost 24 weeks I'm still at 15 pounds which is more acceptable for me :).

21 weeks with Oliver on left and 21 weeks with baby girl on right - see they're about the same now :)
The placenta is anterior, so I didn't feel baby girl move around until 18 weeks.  At 19 weeks Scott could feel her and at 20 weeks we can see her moving from the outside. We had her anatomy scan at 22 weeks and it was so fun to see her sweet little face.  She was head-up and facing my back most of the time.  She weighed about 1lb 5oz and measured a couple of weeks ahead just like Ollie always did- hopefully she will be a little smaller than him though :).
I've been feeling okay, but don't have as much energy as I used to.  I'm definitely ready to lay down for a little bit by the time Oliver's nap rolls around.  With both pregnancies if I stand up in one place for too long I start to feel shaky, dizzy, nauseous, etc.  A couple of weeks ago I was in a store with Oliver and actually did pass out which has never happened before.  The whole thing came on so fast and I felt totally fine within a few minutes after - it was so weird.  I saw my doctor after and everything was fine.  I just have blood pressure on the lower end and he said when I stand in place blood can pool in my legs and not reach my head.  So convenient when I need to stand in a line somewhere :).

Only 16 weeks until we get to meet this little girl - we can't wait!!

Oliver's Circus Party!

Ollie's party was SO much fun to put together! I kept telling myself to keep it simple ... but I'm not always very good at that.  Scott and I wanted to celebrate not only his birthday, but also us surviving the first year of parenthood :).  We invited our families and all of his little 1-year-old friends.

Minus Whole Foods having no record of the cake order the morning of (they fixed their mistake and whipped up the cake I wanted in time AND free of charge), the party went smoothly.  Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate our sweet Oliver turning ONE!
